We love engaging girls in STEM! Girls get pumped up about science during our series of Saturday workshops. Girls explore hands-on science with expert role models from University of Oregon’s Women in Graduate Science and other female mentors. Workshops take place at Eugene Science Center, University of Oregon, or at a special field trip location.
Girls’ Science Adventures is run in partnership with the University of Oregon Women in Graduate Sciences. 2026 registrations are sponsored by the generous support of the Jane Higdon Memorial Fund.
To receive updates about registration, contact Alex Lombardi at 541-682-7892 or [email protected]

Your brain is buzzing with possibilities! In this hands-on neuroscience session, we will explore the fascinating world of the brain. By experimenting with real electrophysiological signals, we will discover how brains communicate, control movement, and shape our experiences of the world around us.
It’s all about the heart! In this Valentine’s-themed session, we will explore the science behind what makes hearts so powerful. We will discover how the heart pumps blood, spreads oxygen and nutrients, and keeps us moving with every beat. It’s a sweet way to learn how our hearts keep us alive!
Let’s explore the universe together! In this space-themed adventure, we will investigate the wonders beyond Earth, from planets and stars to galaxies far away in Eugene Science Center’s planetarium. Through hands-on activities and interactive exploration, we will uncover the science behind space phenomena and imagine what it might be like to explore the cosmos.
Tiny creatures, big discoveries! In this entomology session, we’ll explore the fascinating world of insects through hands-on observation and investigation. By closely examining insect anatomy, life cycles, and behaviors, we’ll uncover how these small but mighty organisms are perfectly adapted to their environments—and how form and function work together to help insects survive and thrive.
Math doesn’t have to be about numbers! In this session on Pi day, we will explore and investigate the wild and mysterious world of shapes, puzzles, and more at the University of Oregon campus. By thinking about the patterns that arise here, we will see a different facet of mathematics and uncover new perspectives on familiar experiences
