Help us fill this space with large interactive science exhibits to create a new 4,500 sq ft outdoor science park!

Since 1980, the footprint of our Alton Baker Park home has remained relatively unchanged at about 3,000 square feet of exhibit space. In mid 2023, we were presented with an incredible opportunity: the chance to create an Outdoor Science Park that will more than double our square footage for exhibits and programs. Since then, we’ve installed the infrastructure for the park and raised funds to put us only 28% away from our goal of turning this dream into a reality!
This project will transform Eugene Science Center, enhance our efforts to educate our community, and help meet the needs of children and families for generations to come. By more than doubling our educational footprint, we can better serve the population of Lane County, which has more than doubled since we were founded in 1961. The benefits of safe, outdoor play for children are also unmatched- from healthier socialization and engaging with their imaginations to developing problem solving skills and a respect for nature.
